Alpha Rho Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau
LEED® Gold Fraternity House Atlanta, GA

The red brick house features high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, a
light-colored roof to reflect heat, low-flow showerheads, dual-flush toilets and the
existing structure of the old house, among other things.

“This project really shows that we’re ready to move forward and be a
part of the whole instead of being just part of our greek house,” Memphis
Geisert, Georgia Tech ’06, said. “We’re going to be responsible and build
for the future so 100 years down the road this house will still be able to
integrate into the environment.”

Alpha Rho chapter undergraduates moved into one of the
nation’s first privately owned houses of its kind in the fall of 2009.
